Covid Data Analysis | Eastsideelectives

Data Analysis is one of the hottest fields in Computer Science right now. Areas as varied as Internet search to Covid and climate predictions rely on data analysis.

In the projects showcased below, real-time Covid data for daily positive cases and deaths was downloaded using APIs provided by covidtracking.com and smartable.ai. The data was analyzed to come up with predictions shown in the graphs below.

Projected Covid Cases

A quadratic function was used predict positive covid cases based on their past history.

Herd Immunity Scenario

A logistic function was used to predict how soon Herd Immunity can be reached.

Covid China Data

This graph shows the daily death rate in China due to Covid, with a peak on 2/13/2020. This data was used to predict the peak for US.

Covid US Data

This graph shows the daily death rate in US due to Covid, with a predicted peak on 4/1/2020. The prediction may not be accurate due to differences in handling of the pandemic by US and China, as well as due to some missing data for China.
